General Information
The Bill Whistlecroft Athletics Arena offers some of the most comprehensive facilities in the South West.
The Arena comprises:
- Eight-lane 400M synthetic track
- 4 Long Jump/triple jump pits
- 2 High jump beds
- 1 Pole vault bed
- Hammer throws cage
- Discus throws cage
- Shot put throw circle
- Grandstand for seated view of the finish line
- Terraced seating
- Fully floodlit.
- Announcers Hut, with PA system
- Clubhouse
Athletics Events and Meetings
The Bill Whistlecroft Athletics Arena hosts over 30 different athletics events / meetings each year. The majority of these events are held between April and July and are booked on request up to 12 months in advance.
The events include;
- Primary and Secondary School Sports Days
- Somerset/Dorset Regional, County and Area Schools Athletics Championships
- Young Athletes League
- British Colleges League
- South West League
- Race for Life events
- South West Pentathlon events
- Yeovil Olympiad inclusive games

Athletics Arena Fees And Charges 2024-25
Track Pass Information and Application Form
As part of our access and use of the Athletics arena we now offer an annual trackpass for all club and casual users to attend site and train individually or with other users/coaches outside of bookable club use and events, you can download a form and email it in to yeovilrecbookings@yeovil.gov.uk with an ID photo, once ready you will be contacted to collect and make payment via the Yeovil rec office located in the JOD pavillion.

Yeovil Olympiads Athletics Club
The Arena is the home to Yeovil Olympiad Athletics Club; they are one of the largest clubs in the South West. The Club is open to anyone from the age of 11 years.
Club Training nights are every Tuesday & Thursday night through the year.
